Rural banks are trained to manage grain banks
Directors of 11 Rural Savings and Credit Banks have begun training to develop grain banks, which will contribute to the food security of communities by collecting a percentage of the basic grains produced in the post-harvest harvest to improve food availability for the rest of the year. This initiative, while generating income for the rural banks by improving their capitalization rates, will benefit families by offering basic grains in the communities at a fair price.
This training is part of the project "Implementing mechanisms for the reactivation of local economies", co-financed with public funds by the National Service for Entrepreneurship and Small Business (SENPRENDE), contributions from CDEMYPIME and Agrolíbano, and is implemented in 4 communities of Nacaome, Valle, and 7 communities of Namasigüe, Apacilagua and El Corpus, in Choluteca, within the framework of the Food Security strategy carried out by the Agrolíbano Foundation as part of the Healthy Families program, thus contributing to SDGs #1 End of poverty, #2 Zero hunger, #3 Good health and well-being, and #17 Partnerships to achieve the goals.
