School gardens in 8 educational centers in Valle and Choluteca
Productive school gardens are being implemented in 8 of the 14 educational centers that make up the Comprehensive Development Support Program for Children and Adolescents in the School Environment (ADINAE) developed by the Agrolíbano Foundation. All centers receive technical assistance. In addition, 3 of the educational centers in Valle, which are coordinated with the Departmental Education Directorate, have been provided with tools for land preparation and garden maintenance tasks, activities carried out by students, teachers, mothers and fathers.
Through the gardens, students are trained to produce food, which in turn helps to complement school meals, and a responsible approach to nature is encouraged by promoting environmental sustainability; thus contributing to SDGs 2, 3, 4, 12, 15 and 17.
