Strengthening the Calaire Microbasin Committee
Within the framework of the Program to Strengthen Citizen Participation for Peace and Development (FOPACDE), the Calaire Microbasin Council has completed a training process aimed at the application of its internal regulations, which facilitates the empowerment of the functions of its members to promote the plan in favor of the care of the environment and water resources, while leading the project to build 16 linear meters of a retaining wall or curtain to prevent erosion in the area of the community's water source recharge zone.
The strengthening process is part of the Conservation and Protection of Water Resources project, linked to 3 micro-basins: Namasigüe and Calaire in Choluteca and Baja Grande de Nacaome in Valle, implemented by Fundación Agrolíbano with the support of the Territorial Water Governance Program in Region 13 Gulf of Fonseca and the technical and financial support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation - COSUDE, contributing to SDGs 6, 13, 15, 16, and 17.
